The aea challenger bullpup loves these and keeps them just under the sound barrier. Hit like a tank. Hitting a microwave at 175 yds every shot. Very consistent, love them.
Picked up a FX Crown Continuum in the beautiful GRS stock and with the 700mm Superior liner these slugs are one hole at 30 and only slightly larger at 50 and so on. By one hole I mean literally ONE hole 10 shot groups....Not a ragged hole or a 1/4 inch hole, I mean a single slug diameter hole!! I have been shooting single blades of grass at 75 yards with such easy it gets boring after 20 or so shots.... Thia gun will NEVER see another ammo down the barrel besides these slugs in .217 period. Great work Nick!@ Shooting them right at 905 FPS
After ordering different sizes and weights from Nick, I found my magical slug for my FX Crown with the 700mm slug liner. These 27.5 grain slugs in .217 are the ticket after alittle bit of reg and hammer tuning for the harmonics of the barrel. At 950 fps, they’re shooting ragged hole groups at 50 yards for 18 shots. Easily cover with a nickel and sometimes with a dime if I don’t get a flier in the group. Will report back about the distance accuracy at 150 yards plus, but I’m pretty sure they’ll shoot awesome as the groups usually reflect the performance at range.
I have an airforce condor ss, and it absolutely LOVES the 27.5 & 28.5! There’s virtually no difference, accuracy wise, between the two out to 75 yds. (from my rifle). I have it tuned down to just over 5, still average over 900 fps! And they put a serious hurtin on critters! Have dropped grounders at 150 yds! The thing continues to amaze me. I’ve ran several different pellets through it, and by far, it shoots these the absolute best! Kudos NSA, extremely good pellets. Now, that being said, not all rifles are the same. My buddy has an older airforce talon, and it won’t shoot them, they get jammed up in the barrel, and air escapes backward. Maybe he needs a different diameter.
I bought an Airforce platform just to shoot slugs. Ive tried cast slugs without luck, but at this price and quality I can spend more time shooting! Both the 27.5 and 28.5 have been exceptional. Shooting 930-940, accuracy is effortless, even on the Airforce platform without modifications. They are still hitting so hard at 75yd compared to diabolo pellets. You have made me like this rifle so much more!
